Detailed description of the activities students will engage in for each lesson:
Activate Student's Prior Knowledge:
Teacher: Today we will be going on a field trip to the Erie Canal(210 Market Street, Lockport NY 14094
(716) 433-6155 LockportLocks.com.) Before we step inside the boat, I would like all of you to fill out the worksheet of what you know about the Erie Canal, and what you would like to learn on your trip today.
Student: (Students fill out worksheets on the clipboards)
Teacher: Now I would like all of you to put your clipboards in your folder, and I will pass out a Polaroid camera to each of you to take pictures of what you would like to learn on your trip.
Student: (Students put clipboards in folder and take the cameras)
important, because we will put together a collage next class. So, make sure to take some very interesting and purposeful pictures to help you make your collage. Also, please put each picture you take with the camera into the folder so you do not lose it. Now lets
During lesson:
Student: Students walk on boat tour starts. Students record their trip. (Please refer to pictures below to see some of what the students will see on this tour.
